Beware scam circulating involving getting paid to evaluate Walmart

A new scam is being reported that involves a promise to be paid to evaluate your local Walmart.

Several people are reporting being sent a check that they are to cash, send money to multiple people and keep $200 for their trouble. The money is yours for “evaluating” your local Walmart.

There have even been reports of the scammers following up via text message, encouraging you to complete the job and cash the check.

If you receive any correspondence like this, report it to your local authorities immediately.

One person who the scam was attempted on had the following to say:

“Friends, beware of this scam letter that I got in the mail yesterday. It says to complete a Walmart survey by first depositing this check, buying something at Walmart, and then wiring money to 2 separate people and you get to keep $200. Someone has been texting my phone pushing me to deposit the check and trying to convince me that it’s real but a little google investigation reveals otherwise ???? ‭+1 (678) 712-3657‬ is the number that is texting me. Please share so no one gets scammed! #scammersbeware #scams #walmartscams”
