Thefts, break-ins and vandalism reported in Tippah County

Several instances of thefts, property being broken into and acts of vandalism have been reported by residents in the Dumas area of Tippah Couny. Several of the incidents have been reported in the area near CR 600.

The alleged acts have happened over the last 2 weeks. They include theft of property.

Police warn that this time of year sees an increase of this type of crime. As holidays approach, be aware of your surroundings.

From one north Mississippi police department, you should also be cautions while out shopping:

“As the holidays approach, please be aware that while you’re out shopping so are the thieves! Some tips to stay merry and not have your holiday experience include the police:

1. Make sure the doors to your vehicle are locked.
2. Do not keep valuables in plain sight or better yet do not keep them in your vehicle if at all possible.
3. If you must keep them in your vehicle, put them in the trunk.
4. Keep an eye on valuables such as cell phones, purses, and wallets.”

Consider purchasing a home camera system to better help authorities locate vandals.
