Child remains found, MBI asking for help identifying them

The remains of a child were found and the MBI is asking for the public’s help identifying the remains.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s assistance with information leading to the identity of this child.

On January 8, 2014, the remains of a young child were found in Sharkey County, Mississippi. The child was found on the east side of the county. The child is a male and was 5 to 7 years old at the time of death. A NCMEC Forensic Artist created two images depicting what the child may have looked like in 2014.

This case was initially investigated by the Sharkey County Sheriff’s Department and has now been turned over to MBI.
