Bystander injured in Jackson drive-by shooting
Jackson police are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured a bystander Tuesday evening. The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Capitol Street near Prentiss Street, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Detective Tommie Brown said the victim was walking on Capitol Street when two vehicles, one white, drove by and opened fire. The bystander was struck and taken to a local hospital. The victim’s condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities have not identified any suspects or made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing, and police encourage anyone with information to come forward.
