Canton High boys basketball coach arrested on DUI charge
Brian Townsend, the head coach of the Canton High School boys basketball team, was arrested in Rankin County on charges that include driving under the influence, Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said.
Sheriff Bailey said Townsend also was charged with no insurance and another traffic violation. The sheriff provided the information to WJTV, which first reported the arrest.
Rankin County Jail documents show Townsend’s bond was set at $3,500.
No additional details about the arrest or any court dates were provided in the sheriff’s statement or in the jail records made available to the media.
