Inmate Escapes from Wayne County Jail

WAYNE COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – Authorities are actively searching for an inmate who escaped from the Wayne County Jail, prompting a community-wide alert.

Martin Ralls III, a 42-year-old white male with black hair, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds, fled into nearby woods yesterday. He was last seen wearing an orange Wayne County Jail jumpsuit.

Surveillance footage captured Ralls evading custody by jumping the jail fence and disappearing into the wooded area nearby.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has issued a plea for the public’s assistance in locating Ralls. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact 911 immediately or report tips to the Wayne County Central Dispatch line at 601-735-2323.
