JACKSON, Miss. — Lawrence County School District announced that schools and district offices will be closed Monday, March 16, 2026, because severe storms are expected to move into the state Sunday night, WJTV reported.

District officials said crews have been working to address storm-related hazards but cited low-hanging trees as a concern.
The closure affects schools and district offices in Lawrence County, the district said, WJTV reported.
