Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Announces Closure of Disaster Recovery Center in Humphreys County
BELZONI, Mississippi – In an announcement today, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) stated that the Disaster Recovery Center located in Humphreys County will permanently close its doors on Saturday, July 20th, at 2:00 p.m. The center, which has been aiding survivors of the April 8-11 storms, will cease operations as scheduled.
Survivors seeking individual assistance following the devastating storms will still have the opportunity to apply for aid until August 9, 2024. Applications can be submitted online or via phone, ensuring continued support for those affected by the natural disaster.
MEMA urges all eligible individuals in need of assistance to take advantage of this extended application period to secure the necessary resources for recovery. The closure of the Humphreys County center marks a transition in the ongoing efforts to support affected communities across Mississippi.
