A Starkville police officer was injured in a crash while assisting with a funeral procession, according to police.
The collision happened just before 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 21. Authorities said a motorcycle officer and another vehicle, which was not part of the procession, collided on a street in Starkville.
The officer sustained serious injuries, but details about their condition were not immediately available. Police did not specify the cause of the crash or if any charges are pending.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with any information.
