Mississippi State avoids midweek upsets with postseason mindset, Brian Hadad says
Mississippi State has avoided the wave of midweek upsets that has hit other highly ranked teams, writer Brian Hadad said.
Hadad wrote that the Bulldogs have adopted a postseason-style mentality for each game this season. He said that constant focus has helped the team steer clear of the upsets that have struck elsewhere.
Hadad noted that many top teams around the country have fallen in midweek play. He wrote that Mississippi State’s weekly approach has been a deliberate attempt to counter that trend.
According to Hadad, maintaining that level of urgency every week is necessary this season for the Bulldogs to avoid the “upset bug” affecting the rest of the Southeastern Conference.
