Mississippi State opens SEC play against Arkansas’ elite pitching staff

Mississippi State opens Southeastern Conference play against Arkansas in a series Brian Hadad and Robbie Faulk described as a perfect litmus test of the Bulldogs’ improvement, Hadad and Faulk said.

Hadad and Faulk noted Arkansas has dominated the series against Mississippi State over the past eight years and credited an elite Arkansas pitching staff with much of that success, the pair said.

The commentators discussed whether Brian O’Connor’s first SEC series can be one to remember or whether long-standing trends will persist, Hadad and Faulk said.

Hadad and Faulk raised the question of whether old habits will die hard when the teams meet in Fayetteville, they said.
