Trump says he asked allies to send warships to keep Strait of Hormuz open

President Donald Trump said he had asked about seven countries to send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, and he said Iranian strikes continued to rain down on Gulf countries, the president said.

Trump made the remarks as tensions in the region escalated, according to his comments. He did not immediately identify the countries he had asked to assist.
