Witnesses say Ted DiBiase Jr. received millions in welfare funds for little work

Mississippi’s former welfare director, John Davis, testified in federal court that he ordered nonprofit operator Christi Webb to direct welfare funds to retired professional wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. Davis said his decision was influenced by a desire to maintain a friendship with DiBiase.

Webb testified that Davis instructed her to issue contracts to DiBiase that he never fulfilled, despite the funds being disbursed. The allegations suggest that DiBiase received millions of dollars in welfare funds with little effort or accountability, according to court records.

The proceedings detail allegations of misuse of welfare funds and highlight the role personal relationships played in the distribution process. The case continues to unfold as prosecutors examine the extent of the alleged misconduct.
