Airlines for America CEO hopes DHS shutdown ends for TSA by April
Airlines for America CEO and former New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu said Monday he hopes the Department of Homeland Security shutdown that is affecting the Transportation Security Administration will end by April.
“At most, my hope is that it’s maybe the first week in April, at most, when the new secretary comes in,” Sununu said.
Sununu identified himself by his industry role as he discussed the impacts of the ongoing DHS shutdown on aviation security operations.
He made the remarks Monday as leaders and industry groups weigh the effects of the funding lapse on TSA and other homeland security functions, Sununu said.
