Appeals court allows White House ballroom construction to continue temporarily

A federal appeals court on Saturday said construction of the White House ballroom can continue temporarily, pausing a judge’s order that had halted work late last month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said.

A three-judge panel from the court ruled 2-1 to put the preliminary injunction on hold, the court said.

The injunction had been issued by a judge late last month, temporarily stopping the project, the appeals court said.

The panel’s order keeps the injunction paused until April 17, the court said.
