Cellphone app, security video helped investigators in Sade Robinson case

A cellphone app and security video were critical in helping investigators piece together the movements of Sade Robinson, 19, after she went on a first date in April 2024 and never returned, police said.

Her car was found set on fire about 3 miles from her apartment, police said.

Using data from an app on her phone, law enforcement began to reconstruct where she went and who she was with, investigators said. Security video supplemented the phone data, officials said.

Police said the digital evidence helped guide the inquiry into Robinson’s death. Authorities provided the information to the public, police said.
