Cornyn, Paxton to meet in May GOP runoff in Texas

Sen. John Cornyn will face Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a May Republican runoff, election officials said.

Vote counting was still underway in the Democratic primary between Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico, officials said, leaving that contest too close to call.

The runoff will determine the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Cornyn, officials said.

Officials did not immediately provide further details on totals or an exact date for the May runoff.
