Former CIA Director John Brennan said Saturday he believed the 25th Amendment “was written with Donald Trumps in mind,” Brennan said, according to the remarks released Saturday.
“I think the 25th Amendment was written with Donald Trumps in mind, because allowing someone like this to continue…” Brennan said.
His comments came after multiple Democrats pushed for President Donald Trump’s ouster following intense threats the president directed toward Iran, according to reports of the political reaction.
Brennan’s statement and the subsequent Democratic calls for removal reflect heightened tensions over the president’s conduct, officials and lawmakers said in public comments this week.
