FBI investigates former counterterrorism official over alleged classified leaks

The FBI is investigating Joe Kent, the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center, over allegations of leaking classified information, The Hill reported Wednesday.

Kent resigned earlier this week, citing opposition to the United States’ ongoing war with Iran. The investigation was reportedly already underway before his resignation.

Kent, who was a top aide to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, has not publicly commented on the probe. The FBI has not confirmed the investigation publicly.
