Formula 1 cancels April races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia over Iran conflict
Formula 1 and the sport’s governing body said Saturday they have called off the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix scheduled for April because of the ongoing conflict with Iran.
The decision was announced in a joint statement released ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, the organizations said.
The statement said the move was made after “careful evaluations,” according to Formula 1 and the governing body.
Officials did not provide additional details in the announcement, the statement said.
