Group says HHS voicemail changed to Domino’s recording
Callers hoping to complain about federal animal testing with the Department of Health and Human Services earlier this week instead reached what sounded like the voicemail for Domino’s, the White Coat Waste Project said.
The White Coat Waste Project, a nonprofit, said a “rogue” HHS staffer changed the phone’s outgoing message, causing the misdirected recordings, according to the group.
The report said the switch prevented callers from reaching the expected HHS voicemail. The group made the claims in material it released about the incident.
The White Coat Waste Project provided the information to media outlets, and attributed the change to a single staffer. The group did not attach an HHS statement to its initial release.
