Jason Momoa evacuates Hawaiian home amid severe flooding

Hawaii actor Jason Momoa and his family evacuated their home on O’ahu’s North Shore after severe flooding caused widespread damage. Momoa shared on social media that they lost power during seasonal storms but are safe for now, expressing concern for others affected.

Momoa posted on Instagram, saying, “We’re safe for now but there’s a lot of people who weren’t, so sending all of our love.” He added that the North Shore was “pretty gnarly right now” and urged others to stay safe.

Despite the displacement, Momoa participated in relief efforts, distributing more than 200 plates of food to local residents with his girlfriend, Adria Arjona. “We spent time on the west side, just trying to show love, bring some food, and remind our community that we see you, we stand with you, and you’re not alone,” he wrote.

Hawaii experienced its worst flooding in more than two decades due to heavy rains, with over 2,000 residents remaining without power on Sunday. The storm prompted evacuation orders for 5,500 people north of Honolulu, but no fatalities were reported. More than 200 individuals were rescued from floodwaters.

Governor Josh Green said the state was still battling the effects of the storm, which prompted a statewide flood watch through the weekend. He warned that saturated ground made conditions dangerous, with potential damages exceeding $1 billion, including impacts to airports, roads, homes, and a hospital on Maui.
