Justice Department to share voter data with Homeland Security, DOJ says

The Justice Department said it will share voter data it obtained from states with the Department of Homeland Security so the information can be run through a citizenship-check tool, according to the department.

The department has sought voter information from state election offices, the Justice Department said.

The data will be processed through a citizenship-check tool that critics have called controversial, the Justice Department said.
