Kevin O’Leary says high oil prices will be ‘granddaddy’ issue in midterms

Canadian investor Kevin O’Leary said Wednesday that rising oil prices amid U.S. military operations against Iran will be the ‘granddaddy issue’ in the midterm elections, he told Fox News’s Martha MacCallum.

O’Leary addressed spiking oil prices during the interview and tied them to voter concerns about affordability, according to the broadcast.

He made the remarks ahead of former President Donald Trump’s scheduled speech in Kentucky on Wednesday afternoon. During the segment, O’Leary said, “This affordability speech, it’ll be about…”, according to Fox News.

The comments aired as U.S. military operations against Iran continue, a context O’Leary cited in discussing oil prices and their potential political impact, the network reported.
