NASA’s Artemis II to fly astronauts around moon Wednesday
NASA said Artemis II is scheduled to launch Wednesday at 6:24 p.m. ET from the agency’s Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida.
The mission is a test flight that will carry astronauts and mark the first crewed mission to head toward the moon in more than five decades, NASA said.
NASA said the on-site countdown clock has begun ticking down as teams prepare for the liftoff.
Officials described Artemis II as a key step in the agency’s plans to return humans to lunar orbit and support future missions, NASA said.
