Ohio man faces charges after threatening homeowner in apparent religiously motivated attack

Authorities in Warren County, Ohio, arrested a man following a threatening encounter with a homeowner early Sunday morning. The incident was captured on surveillance video showing a man with a knife approaching a house and making threats in the name of Allah, according to police.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Anthony Long, drove into the family’s driveway with his headlights off and appeared to be praying before approaching the residence, authorities said. Long first knocked on the door without response, then returned and pounded louder. The family was asleep at the time.

Tiffany Miller, the mother of the household, said she and her family were awakened by the suspect, who was standing outside the house. Her husband, Andy Miller, confronted the man outside, asking if he was knocking on the door. The suspect responded, “I’ll kill you in the name of Allah,” according to Miller.

The suspect then pulled a knife on Andy Miller and made explicit threats, attempting to approach the home again before fleeing the scene in pursuit of the family’s daughter, who had arrived home moments earlier. No injuries were reported, and the family described the encounter as terrifying.

Long was taken into custody and charged with four misdemeanor counts, including aggravated menacing, trespassing, and criminal damage. He is being held in Warren County Jail on bail exceeding $75,000, most of which requires cash payment, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said.
