Ontario allows early alcohol sales ahead of U.S.-Canada gold-medal hockey game

Ontario will allow bars and restaurants to start serving alcohol early Sunday ahead of the gold-medal men’s hockey game between the U.S. and Canada, the provincial government said.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario announced Friday that the hours for liquor sales would be extended, the province said.

The province said the change was made in anticipation of the game, which has prompted adjustments to service hours across Ontario.
