Private Security Firm Assists Americans in Evacuations Amid Middle East Conflict
Global Guardian, a private security firm, is actively assisting in evacuating Americans from the Middle East amid ongoing conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. The company has reportedly evacuated more than 4,000 individuals since the escalation, according to CEO and President Dale Robert Buckner.
While the U.S. Department of State maintains a 24/7 task force dedicated to evacuations, Global Guardian has personnel in more than 140 countries, enabling rapid response worldwide. The firm provides services including medical evacuations, kidnap, ransom, and extortion negotiations, along with executive protection travel, averaging about 300 missions per month in 84 countries, Buckner said.
The company also conducts surveillance of residences and commercial properties and employs cyber analysts monitoring mobile devices. Following the recent joint attack on Iran by the U.S. and Israel, Global Guardian has coordinated multiple emergency evacuations, though the company has previously assisted Americans in crises such as hurricanes and other emergencies.
In one recent operation, the firm helped two college students stranded in Dubai escape within six hours of the missile strikes. Deputy Vice President of Operations Colin O’Brien said the students were moved from Dubai to Muscat, Oman, where they received rest and transportation arrangements. The company emphasizes year-round planning to ensure readiness for disasters and conflicts.
Global Guardian’s standard procedures involve coordinating ground movements with local teams and preparing documentation and logistics for safe crossings. Buckner noted most current missions involve ground operations led by local personnel, with trained teams working continuously across multiple countries, including Dubai, Oman, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
The firm offers a ‘Duty of Care Membership’ costing $15,000 annually for families of five, providing emergency response services and 24/7 assistance. While working with the State Department, Buckner said Global Guardian has not yet conducted a flight mission on the government’s behalf, but remains prepared to do so if necessary.
