Rep. Ansari to seek impeachment of Hegseth over Iran strikes
Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., said Monday she will introduce articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of war crimes after President Trump’s planned strikes on bridges, desalination plants and power plants in Iran, Ansari said.
“Trump is escalating a devastating, illegal war, threatening massive war crimes and targeting civilian infrastructure in Iran,” Ansari said.
Ansari said the impeachment move was prompted by the announced strike plans and accused administration officials of enabling what she described as unlawful attacks on civilian infrastructure, according to her statement.
