Murphy wrote that Trump was calling reporters to say he plans to commit what he described as “mass war crimes” next week. The senator urged Republican leaders to stop the president from taking such actions.
Murphy’s comments come amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. The senator did not specify what actions Trump threatened to take but emphasized the severity of the language used.
