Senate approves funding for TSA and DHS agencies but excludes ICE and Border Patrol

Senators unanimously agreed early Friday morning to a bill funding the Transportation Security Administration and several other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security, according to congressional sources.

The deal, reached late Thursday night, did not include funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Border Patrol. Negotiators failed to reach an agreement on reforms demanded by some senators, leading to the exclusion of those agencies from the funding package.

The Senate’s decision marks a partial resolution of the ongoing debate over DHS funding priorities, with some lawmakers emphasizing border security and immigration enforcement. The bill now heads to the House for consideration.
