Texas Democratic candidate Bobby Pulido faces controversy over past music video and social media posts
Latin Grammy-winning singer and Democratic nominee Bobby Pulido of Texas has faced criticism over a 2010 music video and past social media posts. Pulido is vying for the seat currently held by Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a Republican.
The controversy centers on a music video for Pulido’s song “Días de Ayer,” in which he appears to engage in lewd behavior. In the video, Pulido is shown wrapped in a red blanket, engaging in indecent acts and appearing to expose himself to a woman on a plane, according to reports from the New York Post.
Following the video’s release, Pulido faced questions from the Mexican press about his sexuality. In a 2010 interview with El Norte, Pulido said he had a different perspective on the LGBTQ community early in his career and mentioned rumors about his sexuality.
His social media activity has also drawn scrutiny. In 2019, Pulido posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, “Igualmente amigo, no homo.” In 2015, he posted a vulgar message directed at pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli, who later served a prison sentence.
After announcing his campaign last fall, Pulido’s past posts resurfaced, including links to explicit websites and a photo purportedly showing him urinating on President Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star. He also posted offensive language directed at Trump, including a Spanish translation of a profane phrase.
The singer-turned-politician has previously described himself as a “winter Texan” for spending much of the year in Mexico. Fox News Digital reached out to Pulido for comment. The report includes contributions from Leo Briceno.
