Trump says deaths of Iranian leaders amount to regime change

President Trump said Sunday that the United States has already forced regime change in Iran, citing the deaths of multiple Iranian leaders since joint U.S.-Israeli forces launched attacks a month ago, the president told reporters aboard Air Force One.

Trump argued that the recent losses of Iranian officials demonstrate a change in Tehran’s leadership, according to his remarks to reporters. He pointed to the deaths as evidence the regime has been altered.

Speaking from Air Force One, Trump also said he was unsure whether the United States would reach a deal with the current Iranian leadership, according to his comments.

The president made the remarks during a briefing with reporters en route, the White House said. Further details about the deal Trump referenced were not provided in his comments.
