Trump says he avoids using ‘war’ to describe Iran conflict

President Trump said Wednesday at the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual fundraising dinner that he avoids using the word “war” to describe the conflict in Iran.

“I won’t use the word ‘war’ because they say if you use the word ‘war,’ that’s maybe not a good thing to do,” Trump told the crowd.

He did not identify who he meant by “they” or specify what approval or consequences he was referring to in his remarks.

Trump did not elaborate further at the event, and his comments were part of remarks delivered to Republican donors at the NRCC’s annual fundraising dinner.
