U.S. military: 5 killed in Eastern Pacific boat strikes
The U.S. military said Sunday that five people were killed in strikes on boats in the Eastern Pacific, according to a military statement.
The statement said intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the region.
It said that on April 11, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted two lethal kinetic strikes.
The military’s statement did not provide additional details about the strikes, including the locations of the attacks or the identities of those killed.
