A Mississippi couple has found themselves behind bars while vacationing Florida. A passer-by saw a man striking a puppy before locking it in the trunk of his car in Panama City.
The couple is being charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
Maurice Sanders and Keshanna Thompson of Canton were on vacation in Florida when they decided to do some shopping. A witness saw Sanders strike the puppy and put it in the trunk of his car. The temperature that day was 94 degrees.
The animal was in the trunk for nearly 30 minutes before police could arrive and retrieve it.
Animal Control officers took the dog from the scene.
