Public Safety Alert Issued After Suspicious Traffic Stop Attempt in Itawamba County

Itawamba County, MS — The Itawamba County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a disturbing incident involving an unknown individual who reportedly attempted to conduct a traffic stop using unauthorized blue lights.

According to officials, the suspicious encounter involved a newer-model black Ford Explorer. The individual attempting the stop was described as a white male with a beard, wearing a ball cap, blue jeans, and a yellow jacket. The blue lights were reportedly mounted inside the windshield, raising serious safety concerns.

Deputies responded immediately to the area near Section Line Road and Highway 371, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The incident remains under active investigation.

Sheriff’s Office: This Behavior Will Not Be Tolerated

The Itawamba County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that impersonating law enforcement or attempting to stop motorists unlawfully is dangerous and illegal.

“The safety of our citizens is always our top priority,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.
