Man Charged After Stolen Truck Recovered in Prentiss County

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — A man is facing multiple charges after a stolen Mack truck was recovered in Prentiss County.

On June 23, 2025, the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department was alerted by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama that a 1999 Mack truck had been stolen and was possibly in the area. Community tips led deputies to Jumpertown, where the vehicle was located the next day.

Dustin Chapman, 37, was later found nearby and arrested. He is charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. His bond was set at $200,000 by Justice Court Judge Ray Hall, but he is being held without bond due to an existing burglary case in Lee County.

Investigators also recovered a stolen log trailer in Tippah County tied to Chapman. The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department has placed a hold on him.

Prentiss County Investigator Aaron Stolz will present the case to the next grand jury.
