The Booneville Police Department has charged a Ripley woman in connection with a shoplifting case reported late last month.

According to investigators, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to a report of a theft on September 26, 2025, from a business on North Second Street. Officers identified and arrested a suspect the same day.

The suspect, Breanna S. Rutherford, 22, of Ripley, was charged with felony shoplifting involving merchandise valued at more than $1,000. Booneville Municipal Court Judge Greg Meyer set her bond at $5,000.

Police said the case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury for further review.
