Teen Charged with Double Murder in Tippah County After-Prom Shooting
TIPPAH COUNTY, Miss. — A 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder following a deadly shooting at an after-prom party in the Blue Mountain area that left two brothers dead.
According to authorities, the suspect, identified as Kylen Clark, is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Jerrious Hunt and 24-year-old Jertavious Hunt, both of Michigan City, Mississippi.
Law enforcement officials say the shooting occurred during the early morning hours at a house party following local prom festivities. Investigators have indicated that an altercation involving multiple individuals escalated, ultimately leading to gunfire.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their deaths have sent shockwaves through the local community, particularly in Michigan City, where the brothers were known.
Clark, who is a high school student, has been taken into custody and formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Due to the severity of the charges, it is expected the case will proceed through the adult court system, though officials have not confirmed additional legal details at this time.
The Tippah County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have not released further information regarding a possible motive or whether additional suspects may be involved.
