Tippah County female hospitalized after she says someone impersonating officer pulled her over, assaulted her

A female has been hospitalized after she says that someone impersonating an officer pulled her over and assaulted her early Thursday morning.

The family of the victim says that the assault occurred around 6 am on Thursday October 30th. A State Trooper was the first to arrive on the scene.

The victim was taken to the Magnolia Regional hospital in Corinth where Alcorn County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene. They are in the preliminary stages of an investigation into the incident as of 8 am on Thursday according to the Alcorn County Sheriff.

Calls to the Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop F were not returned as of publication time.

The incident occurred on Highway 72 East of Walnut near the Tippah/Alcorn County line.

According to family of the victim, she was beaten with a flashlight and her clothes ripped.
