Tippah County getting over $4 million grant for North Ripley Industrial Park
Governor Tate Reeves announced that Mississippi will invest more than $100 million in economic development projects across the state, with a portion of that funding directly benefiting Tippah County.
The investment will support economic development, infrastructure improvements, workforce training, tourism and conservation initiatives statewide. Much of the funding is aimed at strengthening Mississippi’s economy through site development and infrastructure upgrades designed to attract new private-sector investment.
As part of the announcement, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) approved more than $28.6 million through its Site Development Grant Program. One of those grants will provide $4,210,170 to the North Ripley Industrial Park in Tippah County to construct an access road and grade a building pad, improvements intended to make the site more attractive and ready for industrial development.
The Site Development Grant Program includes Select Sites, Premier Sites and Ready Sites, each targeting properties at different stages of development readiness. The goal is to expand Mississippi’s inventory of competitive industrial sites and position communities to respond quickly to business and manufacturing prospects.
Governor Reeves said the investment will help Mississippi continue its record-breaking pace of economic growth and attract billions in future private investment. Funding for the projects comes from multiple sources, including MDA, the Appalachian Regional Commission, Delta Regional Authority, RESTORE Act, GOMESA and the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission.
Local leaders say the funding for the North Ripley Industrial Park represents a significant step forward for economic growth in Tippah County by improving infrastructure and increasing the county’s ability to compete for new industry and jobs.
