Listeria Outbreak Tracked Back to Deli Meat

A recent Listeria outbreak in multiple states has been tracked back by the Centers for Disease Control to deli meat.

Around 10 individuals were hospitalized due to Listeria, and one person died from the infection. Nine out of ten of the individuals stated they had eaten deli meat before the outbreak.

The individuals hospitalized ranged from 40 to 80 years of age and came from Massachusetts, New York, and Florida.

Listeria usually effects those who are older, have compromised immune systems, or are pregnant.
