The Tippah County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old, Kynsleigh Brooke Cheney. Kynsleigh has been missing since August 22nd and was last seen at her home in the Buena Vista area.

Her mother posted the following on Facebook, after strangers on the app threw around unkind accusations that the family had something to do with her disappearance: “This isn’t ok. My daughter ran away from home and hasn’t been seen or heard from in almost 3 weeks. Making false accusations isn’t going to bring her home. Attacking law enforcement isn’t going to help find her ! This is the reason I was advised to delete Facebook, mentally it’s too much. Yes she’s a runaway. Yes she is still missing ! I have 3 other children you people are harming ! With 0 regard to how they are feeling. My daughter is NOT DEAD ! SHES HIDING AND WE CANT FIND HER ! PLEASE HELP FIND HER AND SHUT THE FALSE RUMORS DOWN! Me deleting Facebook has nothing to do with being a criminal and everything to do with mental health ! Keep posting about her keep her name and face out there and we will keep passing out the flyers. We will have new flyers sometime this week. We are working on getting help to find her. Creating false leads and rumors will NOT HELP BRING KYNSLEIGH HOME !“
