City of Ripley and Tippah County pass resolutions regarding high speed internet

The City of Ripley and Tippah County have recently passed resolutions supporting asking the Legislature to change the law this session to allow electric co-ops to provide internet service to rural areas, according to PSC Commissioner Brandon Presley.

Forty five counties and 65 cities across Mississippi have signed similar resolutions.

According to Presley:

As we move into the Legislatove session tomorrow, here are three solid facts to keep in mind on the MS Broadband Enabling Act that’ll allow electric co-ops to provide Internet service:‬
‪-NO request for money‬
‪-Creates NO mandate‬
‪-Stops NO existing provider from serving‬ anywhe
