MSDH reports 4 new COVID19 cases in Tippah as city of Ripley reiterates stay at home guidelines

The MSDH reported 4 new cases of COVID19 in Tippah county on Sunday, the 5th most new cases in the state.

This comes as 67 new cases were reported, bringing the overall total in the state over 200.

The city of Ripley also offered the following recommendations via facebook:

Unless you must go out for critical grocery or other supplies or health care needs, we recommend that everyone should stay home, self quarantine, shelter in place, and avoid contact with others. Absolutely do not schedule or attend gatherings of 10 or more people, or travel if at all possible.

We know every situation is different, blanket orders and decrees can have unintended consequences. Folks, this thing is real, we’ve had several days to prepare, and we should make choices based on someone’s critical NEED rather than WANT or convenience. Please follow these recommendations for the health of our community. We’ll get through this as quickly and drama free as possible. Please follow these common sense directions!

Cases of COVID-19 continue to be identified in U.S. states and in Mississippi. This is a rapidly changing situation that is continually being monitored by the CDC and MSDH as more cases in the U.S. are expected.

Mississippians are advised to take health precautions to prevent the possible transmission of disease, and stay in touch for the latest information on the situation in Mississippi.
