Northeast college seeks applicants for Honors Institute; priority deadline March 15

Northeast Mississippi Community College said its Honors Institute is accepting applications with a priority deadline of March 15. The college said the program provides scholarship support, including coverage of course fees, an iPad and $500 per semester that continues after students transfer.

The college said the Honors Institute is designed for students who push themselves academically and want more from their college experience. The program, the college said, emphasizes close relationships with faculty and offers partnerships intended to open doors after students leave Northeast.

Northeast said it considers the whole student in its admissions process, noting that test scores and grades do not always tell the full story. The college described the program as an opportunity for motivated students seeking a more challenging curriculum.

Students interested in applying were directed to nemcc.edu/honors or to email honors@nemcc.edu for more information, the college said.
