Northeast Mississippi Community College says partnerships with Northrop Grumman and AccelerateMS have helped more than 220 people train for jobs that can pay $21 to $25 an hour.

PROPEL Community Fund awarded Brooke Roberts of Thrasher High School a tuition scholarship to Northeast Mississippi Community College, the fund said in an announcement.

NEMCC Adult Education said it will start a new rotation Tuesday, Sept. 8, adding daytime classes and resuming night classes across five counties to help students pursue high school equivalency and career skills.

Northeast said Fall 2026 enrollment reached 3,502 students, a 2.3% increase from last year, and credited the rise to its community of students, families, faculty and staff.

Northeast High School’s volleyball team defeated Coahoma in three sets, highlighted by 14 aces and strong offensive performances.

President Ford told the TigerTalk podcast that Northeast is working directly with industry to give students real-world experience and prepare them for careers that may look different in 10 or 15 years. The episode also offers updates on activities across Northeast.

The IMPACT Scholarship Program recognizes student achievement and highlights the teachers and professors who helped them succeed, the program said.
