Northeast students win two first-place awards at Mississippi Honors Conference
Students from the Honors Institute at Northeast won two first-place awards and a third-place award at the Mississippi Honors Conference hosted by Belhaven University, the college said.
Angela Portillo-Hernandez won first place in social sciences, Anna Slack won first place in STEM and John Gaines took third place in STEM, Northeast said.
Belhaven University hosted the conference, which Northeast said brings together top honors students from two- and four-year colleges across Mississippi.
Northeast said its Honors Institute continues to produce high-level research, confident presenters and students prepared for the next level.
