Northeast winter guard wins Independent A at Neshoba Central

In a Feb. 15 news release, Northeast said its Winter Guard opened the 2026 season with a first-place finish at the Mississippi Indoor Association’s Neshoba Central show, earning a score of 59.830 in the Independent A division.

The college said the score outpaced every other community college in the contest by more than 4.5 points and fell just short of 60 in the team’s season debut.

Northeast said the group, known as the Tigers, performed under the direction of Dr. Amy Langley.
